Episode 1: BOLLYWOOD ADVENTURES
MUSIC VOYAGER visits Mumbai, the capital of India's entertainment industry, where we meet Kailash Kher and Sona, two of the country's biggest stars. Along the way, we learn the secret of creating a Bollywood hit song, explore ancient Buddhist caves, and are treated to an intimate performance at a picturesque Mumbai reservoir.
Episode 2: GYPSY JOURNEY
MUSIC VOYAGER travels to Rajasthan, where the music is as colorful and soulful as its surroundings. We enjoy a concert by the Gypsy band Musafir and attend a spectacular dance performance on the Umaid Bhawan Palace lawns. Finally, we travel to Ajmer to explore the ancient roots of qawwali music.
Episode 3: DELHI UNDERGROUND
MUSIC VOYAGER explores Delhi's vibrant and inventive underground rock, pop and electronica scene. Rabbi Shergill, Indian Ocean, and East India Company take us on a journey through the city's cutting-edge sounds. The Delhi music tour ends up with a DJ set featuring Midival Punditz and Karsh Kale in one of India's hippest nightclubs.

Episode 1: CREOLE & CAJUN COUNTRY
MUSIC VOYAGER visits Lafayette, the epicenter of Cajun and Creole culture, where the infectious rhythms of zydeco and Cajun music echo proudly across the bayou. Roddie Romero performs at the picturesque Dockside Studios, Creole music star Terrence Simien takes us on a trail ride by horseback, The Lost Bayou Ramblers jam on the banks of the Vermillion River, and songwriter David Egan and singer Marc Broussard treat us to a moving duet.
Episode 2: THE OTHER SIDE OF LOUISIANA
MUSIC VOYAGER travels to Shreveport, a city with a rich musical history. Rock star and blues guitar virtuoso Kenny Wayne Shepherd is our host, and takes us to Leadbelly's grave for a jam with local icon Buddy Flett. Maggie Warwick performs on the stage where Elvis became a star, Music Voyager sits down with guitar legend James Burton for a demonstration of his pioneering guitar licks, and we party to the grumble boogie grooves of the band Dirtfoot.
Episode 3: CRESCENT CITY
MUSIC VOYAGER arrives in New Orleans during Mardi Gras, when people forget all of their worries and join together in crazy celebration. We explore the classic jazz at Preservation Hall, the inspiring sounds of trumpeter Irvin Mayfield, and Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews treats us to a searing demonstration of his talents. We meet crooner Jeremy Davenport, catch a funky jam with Cyril Neville and Galactic at the famed Tipitina's, then join local legend Kermit Ruffins at his annual Mardi Gras morning barbeque party.

Episode 4: COLOMBIA ROCKS!
The Music Voyager team heads to Bogota, Colombia's capital and biggest metropolis, to explore the city's thriving rock and pop music scene. We are treated to an unplugged performance in the historic neighborhood of La Candelaria by world famous rockers Aterciopelados, who also bring us to a nearby indigenous peoples cultural center for a ceremony with Arhuaco shamans. The up and coming rock band, Superlitio takes us to their recording studio for a private jam, and Jacob, our host, digs through the crates at a funky shoe store/vinyl record shop in downtown Bogotá. Finally, we meet up with Fonseca, one of Colombia's biggest pop stars, who brings us to Monserrate, a cathedral high in the mountains overlooking Bogotá, for an unplugged performance of his hit song, "Paraíso."
Episode 5: THE CAPITAL OF SALSA
The Colombian city of Cali is known as the world capital of salsa, and its also the urban center of the country's Afro-Pacific culture. The Music Voyager team discovers how salsa, an upbeat tropical dance music that isn't even originally from Colombia, has been adopted as a native style. We meet up with Grupo Niche, one of the world's most famous salsa bands, for a performance at their private club and explore the famous Juanchito neighborhood where salsa clubs line the streets. A four time world champion salsa dance team shows us the latest and greatest moves in a square in downtown Cali, while the electronic duet No DJs gives us a taste of the city's Latin music cutting edge. We jam in Bogotá with the hippest salsa band in Colombia, La-33, who are bringing a modern attitude to this classic style. Music Voyager also explores Cali's Afro-Pacific music with an intimate performance by Grupo Bahia on the banks of the Rio Melendez, and young bloods Herencia de Timbiquí demonstrate their funky grooves in the streets of the old city.
Episode 6: THE NEW MEDELLIN
Medellín is infamous as the home of drug baron Pablo Escobar, but Music Voyager discovers that the Medellín of today is a modern, thriving city nestled in a gorgeous mountain valley. We are given a tour of a local hip-hop school and community center that is helping provide a positive outlet for inner city youth, and enjoy a virtuoso freestyle display by local hip-hop collective Crew Peligrosos. Reggaeton superstar J. Balvin invites us to his luxurious penthouse apartment for a private performance of one of his hit songs on his patio overlooking the city, followed by a visit to El Cielo, one of Colombia's best and most inventive restaurants. After a visit to the headquarters and archives of Discos Fuentes, Colombia's pioneering record label founded in 1934, and we pull off a skin-of-our-teeth nighttime street performance with Puerto Candelaria, a quirky band that brings creative jazz arrangements to retro Colombian cumbia.

Episode 7: COLOMBIA'S ELECTRO TROPICAL BEATS
One of the latest and most exciting trends in Colombian music is the fusion of traditional rhythms and melodies with electronic beats and modern influences. The Music Voyager team explores this cutting-edge Bogotá scene starting with an electrifying live performance in the streets with La Mojarra Eléctrica. Then we meet British DJ and producer Richard Blaire, whose Sidestepper project pioneered the electrotropical trend. Systema Solar gives us a taste of their funky and eclectic sound at the equally colorful restaurant and nightclub Andrés Carne de Res. Finally, Music Voyager learns about one of the most popular electrotropical bands Bomba Estéreo from founder Simon Mejia, and are treated to a stripped down performance of one of the group's new songs at Gaira, a popular Bogotá restaurant that also serves as a Colombian music museum.
Episode 8: HEARTBEAT OF VALLENATO
Music Voyager is on a Colombian journey from the ranches and farmlands of Valledupar through the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountain range and on to the Caribbean coast. The small city of Valledupar is the cradle of vallenato, which is a rustic, folksy and distinctly Colombian music style. There, we meet up with Fonseca, one of Colombia's biggest stars, who has incorporated the vallenato style into the tropipop sound for which he is famous. We meet with the Rey de Reyes (King of Kings) of the accordion, attend a wild street party, visit a restaurant that serves unusual wildlife, and join the adorable Los Niños de Vallenato for a performance in the city's main square. Next, Music Voyager travels to a small coastal village to meet with a former paramilitary soldier turned vallenato singer, who serenades us in a fishing boat in the picturesque harbor. Finally we end up in the port city of Barranquilla, where steamy, tropical Afro-Colombian beats dominate the music scene. Singer Erika Muñoz takes us to a rehearsal for Barranquilla's famous carnival and gives an impromptu performance of her African-influenced sound. Colombian legend Joe Arroyo performs with his full 14-piece band in a commandeered library. It's a journey that reveals the amazing diversity of Colombia's geography, culture and music.
Episode 9: AFRO-COLOMBIAN GROOVES
The beautiful Caribbean coast of Colombia is where cumbia was born. This iconic Colombian rhythm is now popular in nearly every corner of Latin America. The Music Voyager team discovers sights of Cartagena da Indias alongside Totó la Momposina, one of the most respected figures in Colombian music, who performs with her band on the beach as local children join in on the dancing. Cartagena is bouncing to the hot sound of champeta, which blends contemporary African styles like Congolese soukouss, Nigerian Afrobeat and South African mbaqanga with Latin and Caribbean grooves. Champeta star Louis Towers performs in the bustling Basurto market, and producer Lucas Silva gives us a tour of Cartagena's famous nightlife. Charles King takes us to check out the popular and extremely loud Rey de Rocha sound system. From Cartagena's gorgeous old city to the rough and tumble streets and beaches of La Boquilla, Music Voyager experiences the beauty, rhythms and culture of this colorful city.
